Television Program

"En Familia" is the only weekly Spanish TV program for the Latino community in Minnesota. "En Familia" celebrates its third year of production and has received broad community recognition. The show is aired every Saturday at 5:00 p.m. on cable channel 17 in Minneapolis, and every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on cable channel 6 in more than 20 cities. Furthermore, the program is aired every Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on TPT channel 17 from October through January.

"En Familia brings information and resources, and empowers its viewers to thrive and contribute to the strength of the community. Topics discussed include: education, community development, programs and resources in the community, prevention, health, and many others.

The interviews in the studio are conducted by Eloisa Echávez, Executive Director of La Oportunidad, Inc. The interviewees are well-known community members as well as regular people who work to improve the quality of life for Latinos in Minnesota.

The interviews outside of the studio are conducted by Stacy Rose Janisch and Judith Custodio. Program Direction is provided by Eduardo Bernal, a Colombian independent producer and programming consultant with Minneapolis Television Network since 2002.
